great that’s pretty good rats hand Oh he pulled a muscle Oh pull the ham wrap pulled a hammie okay right out the bat um okay so IIIi probably III let me start that over III I know that some of you probably are questioning my sanity by stabbing my eyeball out of my cookie yeah I am um but he was my thought by no no what just keep it to yourself you know you know how to explain it I just don’t want people think I’m crazy or that I need was I’m sort about treatment but that’s I mean we’re way past that you understand I mean you know what I was thinking when I was doing that right no I quit asking that question a long time ago it’s a cookie on top of a cookie that’s what’s so great about it that’s what you stabbed no don’t tell me what he’s dead you want to know I don’t want I don’t want is a perfectly logical reason I’m just glad you didn’t stab me my cook um I did that to signify the story I’m about to tell rebirth near death you’d stab it oh it was a sec it was a segue to segue yeah yeah it wasn’t um I took the boys hiking uh Lincoln and Lando recently went to her boys plus a Rita Canyon oh you know what that means in Spanish nope it means a place where Rita has a candy probably not uh have you ever been there Jason I know you do a lot of hiking no you ever heard of that no place there Rita Canyon no there’s a Nature Center there and everything placer AIT’s a Canyon but Christy and Lily we’re doing something with some of Lily’s friends so took the boys out there camping it was boy okay wait I’m hiking us we called it my field oh really boy time and so we go out there and we just do this like one-mile hike to waterfall this little waterfall a little waterfall like a trickle like a triple photographer was the trail it was pretty good lots lots of a thunder excuse me I’m burping did you bathe in it a triple no it it it came down a rock face and it was like a little trickle so it wasn’t like a something you could like bathe underneath or pose for photos like Sarita is pretty disappointing well i mean i i i prepared the boys i was like okay now this is not gonna be like a waterfall like you think it’s probably just gonna be like a little trick because this is the desert right still in the desert it was not a tree cover it was nice going out there it was a Boy Scout Troop it was amazing they passed it were assisted by the boys know they it went out and they came back but when we get out there it’s trickling down the rock well I’m like boys there it is and it is like underwhelmed yeah but then I’m like I got to do something – oh I got to do something to make this memorable the waterfall trickle didn’t do it for him I gotta kick it up a notch for feeling I know what’s but literally take it up a notch I said boys if you look at that right there you can kind of see that there’s I could discern a path up the side of the rock face whether you have a four year old with you yeah four year old and nine year old he’s nine right yeah nine just turn nine they they’re eight just keep changing it’s hard to keep trying yeah I usually just go about one like every year it changes how am I supposed to can same time every year well how am I supposed to keep up with that yeah kept the calendar so I might Lincoln go go up there so he starts crawling she sent him as the point person well I had to hold on to the four year old and I’m like taking him up and he’s shimmying over and then I’m going up and so at one point I’m like not you might want to face the rock and kind of lean towards it and like when in doubt just kind of laid out on the rock to shimmy across and we and um we get up there and I first of all I had on a backpack that Lando can go in that thing that I bought off a Craigslist like two years ago but he was not in it I was just holding him by his arms and making him crawl up something land fearless he’s too young to realize that he could fall in that which he could have and I’m so we get up there and we like I’m like let’s have a picnic there’s like a big open space like a little ledge for the picnic it after you get up there the stream keeps going up and it’s like it just keeps going it’s good once you get through the ledge part it’s opens up again it’s like let’s have a picnic up here big guy so what do we have no my wallet Daniel I’ve got three energy bars it’s like whenever Christy doesn’t come with us like we don’t have any quite a picnic dad oh three energy bars and some slim jims could have slim jims you can eat those at the same time that’s quite an experience yeah what a bad last meal so we’re this couple that didn’t speak English with with their their kid come up there and I didn’t have to know what language oh no I didn’t have to they were they were like I think they’re speaking Chinese okay I didn’t happen no Chinese in order to know that they were pretty afraid coming up there but they came up there and then they cannot look them in and I was like I there’s nothing further that way because I kind of check it out and they went back down and I noticed that they were having a significantly more difficult time going down it’s a lot more difficult to go to them then go to there then they did coming up and so I start thinking myself how am I gonna plate and there’s no other way out no and so I’m there I would say the drop was I mean it wasn’t that much but it looks like a lot when you’re kind of looking over the waterfall thingy so it might not have been like 35 feet or so that’s enough to kill you though or really break something maybe you really badly or three people’s things if all three of you fall so I’m like how am I going to play this because if I if I tell Lincoln the level of danger that we’re in he might clam up and he may not want to go down the thing at all Lando I’m certain I’m not going to tell him much because it won’t make a difference but I do decide I’m gonna put Lando in the backpack okay I mean Lando is four years old he’s he’s too big for this pack by now right especially with me being the size that I’m at like the purport she’s like half your size yes like the proportion weight distribution is not right yeah we’ll talk of it yeah and back heavy so I but I’m like I gotta put him in here because I just can’t I just can’t toss him down you’re right is it was there a pool at the bottom of the water no thrown him in that no pool okay just a ditch you don’t want to throw the kid in the ditch and so I get to the edge and I look down and there’s a man and a woman having a picnic on the Powerbars and beef jerky yes but they were like let’s have it down here daddy I don’t think about they looked at us ending doom they look at us and the guy said is there anything else up there and I was like nah there’s nothing really further up there and I’m like on the edge like trying to figure out how to get down this guy thought I might need your elbow nice and I was thinking do you have a ladder should I I would I would not reach out I was thinking not reach out I was like should I ask this guy to watch in case we fall to get help for us can you spot us and about that time he and his wife walk away oh no and I was and I was actually relieved because my thought was embarrassed I was embarrassed my first thought was I don’t want this guy to see me and my family fall with a stoop right this is more about your pride than it is your kid’s life and pride cometh what before the fall link bingo yeah that’s why that scene exists you know what they call it the fall the season no you have to wait until fall uh make a long spear alert we made it down but I was like I look like a total idiot like sliding down on my butt and sideways with this boy on my back and like really like shaking and like and Lincoln I didn’t say anything a Lincoln but I could see the look in his eyes he could tell that I was scared and I was like Lincoln I get like halfway and I’ll look like a link I’m Lincoln stay there don’t move I’m gonna go down and I’m gonna come back and I’m gonna get you cuz that’s afraid you wouldn’t make it so I finally get down there I take a lander down the aisle and I sit him down and I go back up and get lucky how do Lando do when you left him at the bottom of it he was falling he really was and I go back and get uh Lincoln and I’m like telling where to step in all this stuff and he did really good I never builder out that like alright this is gonna he can just see in my eyes this guy that you could tell when we get down to the bottom we’re like on flat ground and he’s still walking like Robocop and he’s like that I kind of thought I was gonna die I was like yeah but it’ll never forget sighs good for you yeah you got a catch take a mental picture sell those Boy Scouts did well look what we did Boy Scouts you tie in knots we’re like going down cliffs when inadequate training jeah doing things yeah you guys don’t even sell cookies Hey look at this huh ha I’m gonna get in trouble with the Boy Scouts now all right you want to stab me you guys are good at to tie knots and camping and stuff so I mean I wish I was an Eagle Scout really which I was prepared always be prepared that’s the
