mean multiple times a week I hope swerd that was that was the big thing so you because your parents were members of Keith Hills Country Club or whatever or whatever yeah right contra bigger Country Club like I couldn’t go to that pool it’s kind of what I’m saying yeah we lived right next to her though so I mean that kind of made sense how would you call me a country club no I’m just saying I was bitter because I would hear about all the fun but you went to the Lillington pool no I went to the Hidden Valley pool in Angier that’s a country club – Rhett I’m not dogging country clubs well I rewind the tape you’re like you went to the country club pool what are you into the country code – but there’s my more people had never seen the Hidden Valley gotta go okay maybe he’s those is a little bit better of a country club that Hidden Valley that’s not my point was I didn’t know anybody and I hated the pool like whenever we would go right I to this day I don’t like getting in pools because I never have found a way to have a good time until you came up with Marco Yolo and oil rig or whatever that was did we get in a pool oh yeah we got it but but let’s talk about this because I mean I as a kid I would obsess about the pool you know in a night and specifically when I say that I mean pool games I’m not talking about like rock the pool and I mean I I mean sure like I like to look at the girls in their bathing suits I mean that was that was part of the deal but and I but I didn’t do the creepy thing like put the goggles on go under I had no goggles new goggles but GG so you just open but I I went to the pool to play and win pool games like Marco Polo crossed the pool crossed the pool was the game that we played I don’t know and maybe it’s not very sophisticated but cause like pool without getting tagged the way the Keith Ellis pool work is the diving board section the deep end yeah it was smaller and you do somebody’s it and they’re in the middle and you’re just trying to cross the pool and the last person to get across but you know if you get tagged then then you join the force of people trying to stop and I was so long that I would just I dive in like two seconds later I touched the other side of the pool so I was just it was like a bullet looking for his spot and I would like think about this I would think about my strategy like tomorrow I’m gonna do this I’m gonna wait until Charles Scheffel goes and does this cuz he’s always gonna do that I’m gonna do French he’s gonna do this really dude I just I obsessed about that kind of thing and I would go like if there will be parties at the Kito’s pool like some people members they would have parties remember our numbers only data and so people like me could come as a kid and I underlings I would come to the pool parties and you’d be playing these games that you guys would play every single day that I would never play and I was just afraid of drowning the whole time like my mom hit her I think I’ve told this before my mom hit her head on the bottom of the pool when she was a kid and almost drowned and then she’d never gotten she never swam again she cannot swim because she has a fear of it but you swim fine I can swim fine but I was never properly trained to swim and I was not I’m not good at like holding my breath and going under and and it makes me very uncomfortable to hold my breath and go underwater well Ricky dude there’s like a panic type of thing happening well we can do a whole episode about them you could yea put snakes in the pool – yeah so I was terrified of these games you know of course I’m not competitive anyway so like everything was working against me ever thinking any of this could be fun so you were just watered you would get a pool and you just what you did man boy I wish I could just go back and I can know that this is because you never told me any of this like you never once said anything like I don’t like this man I’m not into this it was just like I was always like once we’re at the pools you have done a good story good I mean I would have been like come on dude don’t be that way just play the game and get good at it and then it’ll be fun that’s what I would have said I wouldn’t I’m not saying I would have been able to offer emotional support at that age and I wasn’t thinking about you and I was there I was thinking about winning that was the only thing I was thinking about but if you hadn’t told me that like we go to the pool and I like how do you do that cross the pool thing man I’m scared to go into water I’m scared of drowning you know my mom I I found this out last year about your mom well you didn’t tell me anything you just clammed up man if we go back I’d be like hey tell me how you feel man I mean I’m gonna go back you know what I watched x-men I don’t think it would change anything no xx but you feel sorry for in what’s-her-face can basically send somebody’s conscience back to an earlier version of themselves and I feel like maybe we should look into trying to figure how to do that and I am i conscious back into the little rat and talk to the little link and be like hey man I I know you haven’t told me this but I know that you don’t enjoy the pool now I can go to drown I turned out okay I really could have had a lot more fun I really enjoyed going to the river and they were swimming involved in the river but it was a totally different thing and it was actually life-threatening it was actually life threatened that was what you should have been scared of right we thought we should have died like I really enjoyed that but but you are also altered by that the pool was not it was like okay I the games just didn’t struck my fancy and the holding of the breath didn’t strike my fancy it’s just just the way it was we’re looking at got something go like that I thought you had it was just it’s just a hair is just pointing out yeah it’s right there yeah oh well sorry I can’t help you didn’t mean to change the subject with my eye contact what about your what about your kids though because as a father now well interesting enough Christy Christy grew up loving the pool she was every summer she was a lifeguard at the pool and the pool that she went to it had a huge she saved you if she just merrily er yeah outside of Kinston they had a she saved many lives they had a big slide and they had a big you kind of scared me a little bit with the pencil big rope swing and she saved Gerry Stackhouse’s cousin’s life Oh some people will know who Jerry Stackhouse is he’s still in the NBA Andy hmm I think he probably retired like in the past two years or so oh really maybe three years um maybe longer than that she said a lot of a lot of people would take the swing and then their pants will fall down and you should save them she got quite a lesson in Anatomy as a young lifeguard by saving people whose pants had fallen out I don’t necessarily immediately begin drowning when you lose your trunks well if they’re around your ankles yeah but you start drowned pretty quickly unless you can do the butterfly or you’re a mermaid of course mermaids don’t work hands they have scales but wearing when your pants drop to your ankles it’s kind of like being a mermaid it’s kind of what I’m saying but but that finished the question though you have children who go to the pool I do not have children actually there they all have some whim well the two older ones can swim the young one would be able to swim soon they’re not scared of water they all hold their breath right oh yeah they all hold their breath but I mean some of my kids are more timid than other of my kids I’ll put it that way but you’re taking that into account is what I’m saying let your yeah we try to foster hey this let’s go I’m not gonna rien forced the fear I’m gonna help them conquer it yeah and like Christy gives them like swimming lessons she teaches them how to swim like I was never actually taught how to swim right I would just like kind of look at I would go to the key feels full and I would observe how people were swimming and I would try to imitate it yeah it’s like it’s pretty straightforward right it’s not so much this it’s more of this and then like – if you watch me swim to this day there’s probably something real funny about it I’m telling you we should do a swimming episode I mean we should do some kind of pool we should go to a pool or should I mean teach link out of how to I can dead man’s float there should be I don’t know we should just let’s just go to a pool and play shark you’re it so I’m bleeding yeah
