MK 1138: Making Lunch For My 9-Year-Old Son

Today I’m making lunch for my nine-year-old Jonah. Today’s his first day at Camp Hope. It’s a discount summer camp run by formerly incarcerated individuals. So, he’s getting a ramen pack that he can also use as currency if he needs to. I’m putting in a Kool-Aid packet that he can add to lake water if he gets thirsty. And I’m adding a purifying filter because, well, you know, his immune system’s kind of weak. This is going to be Jonah’s first time fishing. Sandra said it’s too emotionally violent for him. And in case he doesn’t catch anything, I’m giving him a whole raw trout that he can impress the other kids with. He’s been so excited to make s’mores. Just in case the campfire doesn’t get going, I’m giving him a lighter. Oh, and also this in case he needs his own skewer. And I’m giving him a list of song recommendations for when camp counselor Sparky breaks out his harmonica. Love you, buddy. Stay stay uh stay safe.
