you’ve gotten a lot of criticism for your humor trafficking in Asian stereotypes right which I find fascinating because where you grew up presumably most people were Malaysian in Malaysia yeah right and then you came to different countries where you were a minority as an Asian person I think over here sometimes people uh maybe they get a little more easily triggered when they hear an Asian accent they think oh next thing is going to be stere stereotype is going to put us down but I view Uncle Roger as a way to lift our culture up you know uh humorously calling out people who mess up Asian food yeah plus I’m from Malaysia I grew up this isn’t a bit this is an’s accent is very similar to very close to how I used to speak growing up before moving to the Western World I lived uh I was born and raised in Malaysia lived there for 20 years so Uncle Roger’s accent is how I used to sound before moving to the Western World now my English you can still hear traces of asianist in it uh but it’s a little bit more westernized now
