when I first came to America from Hong Kong when I was 13 my grandpa who’s already been living here he was like let’s come walk with me and I’ll take you to one of my favorite American restaurants and we walk 45 minutes down lasa which is a Street in La that’s like five Lanes wide with cars you don’t walk okay we walk so far and we got to this place I also have a strip mall called el po Loco and apparently that was my grandpa’s favorite American restaurant which is Mexican fast food but the greatest thing about that experience was there’s so much Freedom of Choice which is so American yeah first they let you choose do you want white meat or dark meat I didn’t know I had a choice and then they let you choose do you want corn tortilla or flour tortilla I didn’t know did you know what a tortilla was at that point no I have no idea just some kind of bread I guess yeah and then I remember the salsa bar you can just order one piece of chicken on not order anything just walk in to the to the salsa bar and El just open it’s an open air watering yeah sometimes if I go to ELO loal I don’t want the cilantro and onion but I really bag them up so I cook with it myself later I don’t have to chop an onion it’s good to know that you you you’re still humble enough to admit that you can steal you know free salant I love stealing free food I mean come on I want to take all this home
