is that what you just prescribed yeah I think we’ll have an invite your nemesis day next week we’ll start there maybe next Wednesday invite your nipples easy reconciliation I like to dine out me too it’s one of my favorite things to do dine out I I recent what do you want to do well I really want to dine out I use a say in it diner I say it that way too I dine out I say I I recently started trying to do a budget I’ve never really been doing a budget okay Mary for a long time and so our subject never done a budget yeah but what is that but when we start sort of looking at our budget we realized that my wife and I both enjoy the trip to the restaurant you know we like she’s an amazing cook she makes amazing meals we eat most meals at home but we really like the dining out experience but it comes with a price not only do you have to pay for the food it’s called the price I mean it yeah usually on the menu but you’re not just playing for paying for the food you’re paying for the preparation of the food you’re paying the rent of the building you’re paying the decor you’re paying for all of that that’s how the restaurant makes its money link you understand this you know economics right you’ve had less I think it would be cool if they like charged admission to the restaurant separate from the meal and then it would kind of divide it up and you would feel like you were getting the steal that’s called a buffets on you know it’s all you can eat you just you’ve all don’t call me son and second of all that’s not what it is you pay $8 and then you eat it’s a mission oh it’s the all you want it’s carpet but that’s not what I’m suggesting a cover charge and then you sit down at your table and the menu still has prices for the food but it’s much cheaper that’s called a club sorry and then don’t call me and then that then the tip is is already included well that’s because that that’s the whole other thing well that’s what I was getting at is in addition to paying for all the things like the buffet and the omission price to the restaurant the dork the door price you can call me son if I can have your inherent okay is that a deal sure okay and but you have to pay a tip now I know that this is it’s a pretty universal thing but I know that it varies from country to country I know that typically here in the United States that around 15 to 20 percent is sort of the expected tip and if you go to a restaurant and they they take the full tip automatically it’s like 18 percent automatic because most people will do a little bit less than that but 15 20 percent that’s kind of what is expected yeah now a study has been done another study was done we love studies and this study says that there is a particular choice that women waitresses I’m gonna say waitress I think that’s probably incorrect politically incorrect or whatever that’s a woman who’s awake a waiter okay waitress can make get back better better tips by making one choice and that is by wearing red are you trying to get better tips from where no I wasn’t aware of a tipping system involved in this so on in their study in the study of 272 restaurant customers these two researchers with weird French names that I can’t pronounce it’s just waitresses this doesn’t have to do with waiters or can they wear red too well first of all they found that first of all men tip more than women on average but I think more servers happen to be women anyway there’s some other factors that are not get to accounts just the way it is men set more than women they found that we’re not saying anything but then they found that not only didn’t the male patrons give higher tips than female patrons in general but that men gave between 14.6% and 6.1% more two waitresses wearing red while color had no effect on female patrons tipping behavior at all so you can wear whatever color you want a woman’s gonna tip you waitress the same but a man is going to tip a waitress more if she’s wearing red and the theory is is that red increases the physical attractiveness of women hi just right off the bat I’m just no longer with this thing I you know I can’t recall the last time I saw lady in red and thought I’m substantially more attracted to her because she’s wearing red well yes because this happens in your psyche yeah this is a I don’t find myself attracted to women wearing red as a matter of fact red lipstick isn’t it’s kind of a turn-on we’re not talking about red lipstick I didn’t say they needed to like the Joker to get better tips it said they need to have been wearing red and I think that they’re on to something here now I’m gonna take myself first of all I learned tracted to read wearing when I like but first of all I’ve been married for a long time so I am only attracted to my wife wearing red and I enjoy it when she’s wearing red but I’m gonna go back to my single days when I made decisions about tipping women when okay based on I’m going back to the single or they walk back to the safe days okay and so I can I will say that as a man that it could have been subconsciously or it could have been just purposefully when I felt that there was something happening between me and the waitress not like oh this is gonna end with me asking her out or this is going to end with me getting her number or say what time you get off not that kind of thing right but I noticed that when I thought a personal connection and this is the thing about men and women you probably already know this but anything from a woman any signal from a woman a man interprets it as oh she’s she’s into me he and not a signal any positive interaction between a man and a woman a man is gonna interpret that as a come-on she’s it yeah she must be attracted to me and the best waitress is are the ones who flirt with men okay when the waitresses make that man he might be 42 years old completely bald and have a huge beer belly what’s wrong with any of that – saying that’s not universally considered attractive I’m saying when she calls him honey you doing ok honey and she comes by she says he thinks he’s alone another you want another raspberry waffle you want another biscuit honey when she starts talking to him like that as I own 20% 25 26 27 28 he begins to interpret this as she is attracted to me she is glad that I know of course I agree with all that let me get a tortoise wearing red and doesn’t play it does yeah red is considered when a woman wants to look good she puts on red okay think about it it’s just not you seriously like if a model wants to look sensual is she gonna put on pink or red red it’s just it goes back to our ancestors the way that we interpreted things I don’t know what it is exactly I’m not going into the science that deep but I’m saying it’s print proven I love that you’re personally offended by me not being attracted to women wearing red you don’t think red is a more attractive color no are you sure you’re a man yes very sure 100% positive side ah so listen uh I think this is so how do you tip now let’s just move on how do you tip now okay so first of all I am validating the fact that if there’s this connection and if the apparel makes the connection stronger men are gonna tip more now I will say that now I and I would go back to my early days I have always given 20% almost always completely no matter what color they are irrespective of color and I hate to admit this but irrespective of the level of service I I don’t have a tip meter it isn’t like oh you’re bad I’m gonna go down oh you’re being really good I’m gonna go up I just eat my meal and if I’m not completely offended or something horrible happens I just say I look down at the bill and if it’s 50 bucks I say okay 10 percent of 50 is 5 times 2 is 10 $10 tip you know I just I do the math I round it to the nearest thing and I just and I don’t get this calculator out and stuff you know I just say okay is $65 okay $12 tip you know I just kind of do the math like that just sort of approximate a 20% tip and so but you’re losing you know the power is in the purchaser at that point to help educate this way to great risk I’m just giving you my few watch you’re relinquishing your power of the tip there I mean it’s you know it’s it’s like having a sword that you just need slap on the table but how often is the leather wield the sword and say ah look at you you you were not in my way but I always had water when I wanted it and it had listen that’s a waiter thing that’s but if there’s a hair in the food or if the food wasn’t cooked properly that’s it you can’t blame the waiter for that or the waitress for that that you’re not evening but I’m just encouraging you to engage in the power that is at your disposal for the service I would say the one thing that potentially makes my tip go up if it’s gonna get into the 22 23 24 25 percent well range is if I’ve had a personal connection like we talked about where we’re from and there’s some connection and all of a sudden I feel like I’m oh this is a friend and I’m responsible for their well-being like a personal connection that’s interesting because for me my tip is that 20% and then it it can very easily go down but it takes a lot for it to go up the only way it goes up is something extraordinary happens but it’s not making a connection with the waiter or waitress like oh now I know where you’re from or boy he was really nice or she was really nice instead it’s I had everything I wanted a moment before I asked for it and I never noticed that they were there I like never noticing that they were they just kind of slipped oh look at the my waters full I didn’t even know it I don’t I don’t order you like beverages I just drink water but minja waiters like ninja waiters ninja the ninja nests of the waitress a waiter is the only thing that’s gonna take me above a 20% and what makes it go down and how often do is it go down it goes down if like if I ask for something and then I’m waiting for and waiting for it listen every time you go out to eat you’re the tip the tip meter is on no I mean it has to really go down but it’ll be 20 and then it’ll get I could probably go to a 15 but I’m actually not gonna go down until it’s like to attend if they do something that disappoint me enough like gosh I’m parched where’s my water I asked for a lemon and there’s no lemon this water tastes like crap without a lemon how many times do I have to ask for a lemon if I asked twice I could give him 15 I’m probably still gonna give him 20 but then if I ask three times for the lemon or for the water or I’m Parcher it’s a it’s a desert type situation at my table then I’m both I’m going to the ten okay how do you tip what do you base your tip on what’s the percentage that you use and men out there if a waitress is wearing red do you think you tip more first of all you probably do because it’s not something you would acknowledge but I think it happens there doesn’t happen – link is way but he’s really into buffets he likes to pay a mission buddy just staked the same claim we’re two pioneers and we’ve come up all two climbers oh I’ve been going out well Stan I’m gonna blaze a trail and this is my spot and here it goes oh I thought I saw you a couple miles back we didn’t want him to covered wagon yeah you were to win him to come other covered way well I didn’t know it was you because it was covered you got three horses did you never I won’t even ask about that listen Rijo what a fat meme a woman of headsman our eyes on this this here claim here and listen this is Wyoming I mean look at me and my woman look she’s wearing blue and look how attractive she is she has a connection would mean she cares not for you or your steak – this claim was mine I’ll never take me and my blue wearing woman have sticked feigned to this milliseconds before you did do you want to play mercy to settle this no I’m not good at you want to have a staring contest no ain’t good at that either well let’s have a tip-off basketball [Music]
