Today, we paint shake things up. – Let’s talk about that. (warm funky music) Good Mythical Morning! – If you’ve got a gallon of paint made with a custom color, then you have seen one of these puppies. This is Central Pneumatic’s one-gallon air paint shaker! She’s able to shake 1,400 cycles per minute! The only thing that’ll shake more cycles is an earthquake during the Tour de France! – But today we ain’t gonna be shakin’ paint because that’s just not weird enough. It’s time for Putting Things in Things, Paint Shaker Edition! (intense rock music) Okay, Rhett, let’s start by making your favorite drink. – Yes, a martini. – Uh-huh, and let’s do it the James Bond way. – Paint shaken, not stirred. – Okay, so we’ve been chilling a translucent paint can. – [Rhett] What’ll they think of next? – [Link] I guess they chill it, pre-chill it. – In martini class, if you know what you’re doin’, you pre-chill it. – But I’mma pour out this. – Dump out that ice. (rattling) Okay. – Okay, nice and chill. – All right, now I’m going to be making the Vesper martini, which is what James Bond enjoys ’cause it has gin and vodka. So, basically, you just gotta put all of this gin in there. (sloshing) – So you’ve got, you’ve got the ingredients are the same. – These are exactly the same proportions in the recipe that we found on the internets. – If 007 starts drinkin’ this much martini, (sloshing) I think he might have this much of a problem. – Hey man, he deals with a lot. He’s in a lot of different relationships all at the same time. – New movie comin’ out. – Things get complicated. Now, this is the vermouth. – I guess I’ll see it. – Extra dry, it’s pre-measured out into this cup right here. ‘Cause we wanna save that vermouth for later, you know? – Okay, that it? – [Rhett] That’s it. – Okay, now– (banging) I’m gonna pound it. I don’t want it to fly out, you know? – Is it nice and tight? – Okay, I do my job, you do your job. – Yeah, and my job is to make sure it’s tight. – Well, it’s leaking a little bit. All right, speakin’ of tight– – Oh, it’s leaking out of the handle! – The handle. – You better shake it! You better shake it fast. – The problem is these paint cans are just decorative, they’re not the kind you’d get at like a Sherman Williams or a Home Depot. – A Sherman Williams. (laughing) He went in a Sherman William. All right, can you? – All right, we ready? – Yeah, turn it on. (rumbling) (chuckling) – [Link] That is shakin’! – [Rhett] Look at that! – Yeah, what’s shakin’, kids? (rattling) (rumbling) – All right, cut it. Could you imagine, could you imagine, like, a bartender– – With that much power in his hands? – With his little shaker, like, (burbling). And he just went for like 45 seconds. I’d pay extra for that drink. Okay, Link– – Especially if he made that noise with his mouth. – I’m gonna pour this. I want you to pour, we have one that is stirred, okay? Because we wanna find out, is there a real difference between shaken and stirred. Same proportions, that’s stirred. And of course, this one, as you just saw, is shaken. And of course, I’ve got the twist here ready to go. – Look at that spoon. That’s like something a dentist would use if he didn’t wanna get close to you. – Whoop, I got a little extra in my coffee mug. (laughing) Not gonna complain about that. You add a twist at the end. – [Link] Now, what is it that makes a martini oily? – That would be usually olive juice, which we don’t have in this. – Oh good, maybe I’ll like this. So, you’re a little sick, I wanna try that before you do. – I mean, it’s gonna kill everything in there. And that’s shaken. – [Link] Oh gosh. (laughing) – You could light my breath on fire right now. Like a circus performer. I’m gonna join the circus and all I do is drink martinis and then blow, and somebody comes up with a lighter. Martini Man McLaughlin. Have you seen him? – I think that our shaken one’s a little better. – Oh yeah, it’s way better! – And it reminds me of a theory that you had (claps) in high school. – I got, no, it was eighth grade. Buitt’s Creek School, I got everyone in the cafeteria to shake their food because I said if you shake your food first, it tastes better. I looked around– – He said, the electrons! – And everybody was like, got their sandwiches and they’re goin’ like this. – It makes the electrons move. – And I was like, I have succeeded. (laughing) – Yeah, man, you beat– – It’s better, ’cause the molecules– – BS artist, man. – The same thing I said in eighth grade, it excites the molecules, what excites the tastes, which excites your body. (intense rock music) When you deconstruct the paint shaker, it’s basically just a faster, more chaotic stand mixer, so if we put heavy whipping cream and sugar into a paint can, can it make whipped cream for us? – Ooh. – We’re gonna find out if my paint shake brings all the boys to the yard. – Okay, you said it. There’s one, you wanna grab one over there? – I do. I do, I do wanna grab one. – Just this past weekend. Right now, we’re hangin’, and I had some Half and Half, which is half cream and half milk. We didn’t have any milk and I wanted some milk, so I just took half and half and added water and that’s how you make milk. It worked. – I mean, it was a, it was a– – You were lookin’ at me like I’m stupid and I was lookin’ at myself like I was a genius. All right, this one of those balls that you put inside a protein shaker in order to get all that stuff mixed together. – Protein shake balls. – We’re gonna add that and– – Sugar. – And then, oh, okay, that’s done. And then we’ve got some strawberry syrup because strawberry and the coloring– – [Rhett] Will be fun to watch. – Will be fun to watch. M’kay. – This is a lot like paint mixing at this point, you know, when they put a little a little color in there. (banging) It’s good, it’s not gonna go anywhere. – I don’t want it to go anywhere. – It’s not goin’ anywhere. – Okay, you puttin’ that in there. We’re gonna let this run for like four minutes. Yeah, tighten it down. Want me to help you? Oh, that buckled, he said go back a little bit if it buckles. Oh, that’s pretty good. – That’s good, that’s good. – All right. – Shake it up, Neal! – Let ‘er rip! (rumbling) – [Rhett] Watch the color spread. Whoa! – Oh, that’s it. Here we go! We gotta go get the strawberry flavoring! (rumbling) (rumbling) All right, kill it! Okay, you grab that. – [Rhett] Loosen ‘er up, baby. – I’ll loosen it up. – [Rhett] Loosen ‘er up and I’ll take it out. – Let’s see if we’ve whipped that cream! All right, now we’re gonna pop it like a Camaro top. Ooh, it’s really condensed down. Look at this. Ooh. – Don’t stick your tongue out like that. (laughing) Just be like a– Nope. I’m gonna do it first if you stick your tongue out, I’m gonna, no, doin’ it first. – Mm, that’s good, man. It’s got a hint of strawberry. Ooh, ooh, you know what? Oh yeah, bring– – I got this cheesecake. Dump it on there. – [Link] Oh yes. Look at that! – [Rhett] Over it completely, I don’t wanna see any cake. – [Link] Oh, that’s nice. – [Rhett] There we go, that’s what the whipped cream boys do. – [Link] That is nice! (laughing) – All right, that’s enough, that’s enough. Now you just– (thunk) – Ohp. (laughing) Sorry. – It was almost perfect. And then he Neal’d it. – I love it when my name becomes a verb. Oh my word. – There’s not too much cream there, definitely. That’s the thing, there’s not enough whipped cream, people are underusin’ the whipped cream ’cause they’re not makin’ it in buckets. – I think we discovered that you can’t have too much whipped cream. – No. – And this is a nice consistency. And the fact that we got that little bit of strawberry in it, whoo-wee! – Just the right amount. – I’d like a chocolate version of this. Or a peanut butter version. – Bring in the chocolate! – Is there a peanut butter whipped cream? ‘Cause that sounds a delicious thing to me. (intense rock music) – After all these the years, it’s the return of Neverwet! – Yeah! – And we saw what it could do for a simple spill, but can it hold up against the pure vibrational power of a paint shaker? – So we got a hanky that’s been Neverwetted. It’s not very soft anymore, and then you got the soft un-Neverwetted hanky. And then you’re gonna throw some wet wine in there. – Some wet wine! – Man, I remember when you were pourin’ that wet wine on yourself, and then I was pourin’ it on myself, and it was like– – That was such a moment. – That’s a highlight. – Hasn’t gotten any better than that. – Yep, all right, throw the lid on that thing. I’m gonna clamp it down, speakin’ of clamp– – Is that Charles Shaw? – I’m actually going to clamp the end because we think that the clamper is loosening, we just wanna make sure that– – It just leaked on me a little bit already. You go, you gonna have to go real, real, wide. – Ow, ow, my finger! – He hurt himself. – All right, I’m ready, I’m ready. – Call OSHA! – OSHA! (chuckling) Tight, ohp, got a little buckle. – That feels tight to me. – And now I’m gonna throw that right there so it doesn’t loosen the clamper. All right, are you ready? – All right, let ‘er rip. – Action! (rumbling) Oh yeah, that wine’s goin’ everywhere! (rattling) Oh gosh! Okay. Let’s take this thing out. Make sure the top doesn’t fly off now. Okay. It’s a little bit wet in here. – You got the thingamajiggy? – Yeah, I got the pryer. Yeah. – [Rhett] M’kay. – [Link] I call him Richard. – So this is, this is the one without Neverwet. – Clearly. Let’s just leave that loser in there. Oh. Now the question is is that just accumulated or did it agitate itself through the Neverwet? You want a little water? Let’s see if it, that looks pretty good. – [Rhett] Spray it right on the front there. (sloshing) – See? It’s just rinsing the, it looks like it’s rinsing the wine right off of it. – Get the back part there? – You gotta use your water. – Goin’ to my water. Got more water? Okay, yep. – I think this is, here, let’s put that tip down in there. (sloshing) Yeah, it’s basically– – It’s basically clean, man. – It’s, I mean, look at that. Wherever I, wherever I rinsed it, it’s pretty good. (intense rock music) Furbies were a big deal in the ’90s. Speakin’ of the ’90s, that’s when our novel is set. (giggling) And if, shh, if you want a limited edition signed copy, go to Mythical.com while supplies last, get your “The Lost Causes of Bleak Creek” signed by us. – Now, people loved Furbies until they realized they hated ’em. But when they tried to kill ’em, they realized they would not die. Can the Furby withstand a paint shaker? Will it tell us what secret it knows if it can’t? So this is what we shall discover. – All right, it’s so cute, (babbling) yeah, until you form a relationship with it. – Drop it in there. (laughing) That was a little rough. I wanted to kinda ease this sucker into it, but as you can see, he’s– – [Link] Can’t breathe, like he’s suffocating already. This is good. (laughing) Okay. (babbling) Put that down, there you go. – Shake its face, like– – What’re you doin’, pre-shakin’ it? – I’m tryin’ to get him facing it, facing everybody. – [Link] Oh, just do that. – [Rhett] Okay. – All right, crankin’ it down. And then I’m puttin’ on my added– (babbling) – I can still hear him! – All right, we ready? All right, here we go! – Tired. – Furby just went to sleep! – All right, well, wake it up. – Wake up, Furby! (rumbling) (rattling) I think that Furby is sleeping through this entire experience. – It’s completely intact, though, my gosh. Okay, let it out. – All right, you feelin’ any remorse at this point? – Well, I’m gonna find out how it feels. – Oh, shh, shh. (babbling) I think it was cryin’. Let’s let it out! I feel guilty! – Pop the top. (babbling) (babbling) (laughing) – Talk some more, gimme more! (laughing) (laughing) – You don’t have to ask us twice! (rumbling) – More! I don’t feel bad at all now! (rattling) – It’s like a ride! – Yeah! (rumbling) – Okay. – I mean, that time, she was just surfin’. (laughing) (rattling) (clicking) (laughing) – I don’t know if it’s okay. – Cat got your tongue? (laughing) – Hey, you all right? You okay? (clicking) – Guys. We’ve mad a Furby speechless. (laughing) – [Link] I mean, you asked for more. – You know what, hey– We succeeded. This is what– (babbling) (groaning) (laughing) (giggling) (laughing) – She loves it! – It was a trick! – Thank you for subscribin’ and clickin’ that bell. – You know what time it is. – Hi, my name is Tina. – I’m Dylan. – I’m David. – And we’re from St. Louis and we just ran the color run. And we’re at the arch. And it’s time to spin the Wheel of Mythicality. – I thought they were gonna say like zombie run.
