What does your favorite movie taste like? – Let’s talk about that. (bright music) Good mythical summer! – Thank you for saying that. – Oh, you’re welcome. That’s just a great way to start off my- – Any time. – every weekday. Thank you for making us a part of your daily routine. You get to hear things like that. Of course, even now for the summer, it’s not every day. – Right, yeah. – Tuesday and Thursday, we’re having to stretch it out. – Yep, and we are stretching on Tuesdays and Thursdays. – We still are, so stretch on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Keep watching us and go back and watch the other episodes Rest when we’re not releasing new ones. – Yes. – That’s what I’m suggesting for this summer. – I agree with this. – Restaurant/pop culture collaboration meals – Yep. – are a very popular marketing tool, Rhett. – Yeah, yeah, I heard about this. – Despite how ridiculous they sound on paper, they work. McDonald’s had a Saweetie Meal? – [Rhett] Oh, I know about that. – [Link] It was a huge hit. – [Rhett] That got my attention. – [Link] And it was just a Big Mac meal plus four nuggets. – Yeah. – Plus Saweetie. – Sometimes all you need is four nuggets. Even as far back as 1992, McDonald’s was doing the McJordan Special Quarter Pounder with bacon and barbecue sauce, which you know he ate before every playoff game, you know? Gotta get that barbecue! – You’re talking about our Jordan? Jordan Morris? – I’m talking about Michael Jordan. – Oh. – Famed basketball player. Probably the best ever to live. – All right, now McDonald’s is not the only restaurant using celebrity clout to get your dollar. But when stripped of all the context, how hard is it to pair the restaurant menu item to the piece of pop culture? It’s time for I’d like one order of your best roll of sushi! That’s right, the one that’s sponsored by the film, “House of Gucci.” Behold our panel of pop culture. – Our media menu includes Gollum, who in this case, is representing “The Hobbit” franchise. – Don’t fear, Rhettses and Linkses! Put the precious into my mouth, but only if it doesn’t contain dairy. Smegl is lactose intolerant and I don’t want my toilet looking like Mount Doom! – Okay! – And we’ve got Ariana, representing Ariana. – Hi guys, today in honor of the segment, I’ll be singing, bang-bang into the food, seven onion rings, no tears left to fry. – What are you looking at, Ariana? – On due next. – Where’s your mouth going? – Nowhere. (Rhett laughs) Stain on me, parentheses, because I just ate a sloppy joe, and cod is a woman. Those are all of my songs that I know. – I get it. – She’s going into her brain to find the answers, that’s what’s happening. And how about Michelangelo from the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”? – Cowabunga, dudes! It’s me, Michelangelo, the party dude. – Yeah. – I partied a little too hard in the ’90s, so I took a look at my life and now I’m California sober. (Rhett laughs) – I get it. – We’ve got from “The Addams Family”, – Animated version. – Wednesday Addams. – Hi guys, it’s me, Wednesday Addams. Can we make this quick? I have to go be a tattoo on a Hot Topic employee that just got fired for vaping in the break room. (Rhett sniggers) (crew chuckles) – The Sanderson sisters from “Hocus Pocus”. – (giggling) It’s me, one of the witches from the only movie worse than “Space Jam” that millennials are nostalgic for! (both laugh) – Take that, Stevie! – Just so you know, I’m gonna try and be quiet so I don’t wake my sisters because, well, you know if they wake up, you’ll just notice that our voices are all pretty similar. (Rhett laughs) – The elf from “Elf on The Shelf”. (elf giggles) – Put things in my mouth while I watch your dad shower. – (laughing) Oh god! (crew laughs) And I think it’s a shelf, not the shelf, but okay. And of course Charli D’Amelio. – Hey, you can’t tell, but I’m dancing back here! Whoa! (laughs) Each bite of food I take is sponsored by MeUndies! Use offer code, I’m dancing back here! Whoa! – That sounds a lot like Jordan. And finally, “The Grinch”. – It is I, the Grinch. Oh, I hate Christmas. I hate the whos, but I love num-nums. Give me those num-nums! – Okay. And we’re gonna be feeding all these people with our pop culture spoons here. – Yes, yes, yes. – So we’re gonna try the recreations of actual menu items from well known restaurants and then try to match them with the celebrity pop culture promotion that was sending them into the stratosphere. – Yes. And whoever has the most correct guesses after five rounds will win a kiss from a celeb of their choosing! – Ooh! (bright jingle) Good gosh, look at that cloche. Good gosh, look at this burger! – [Rhett] Good gosh, I’m gonna cut it. – What’s happening here? – Okay, first up. This Denny’s menu item is a burger with pepperjack cheese, bacon, sauteed mushrooms and mayo on a grilled cheddar cheese bun, all topped with three crispy onion rings. – It’s interesting that the onion rings are on top of the bun. – Yeah. – Elf on the shelf, what do you think about an onion ring? You like a good onion ring? (elf giggles) – Yeah! Mm! Much better than watching a dad shower! – Yeah, it is. (crew laughs) There’s a lot of mushroom happening here. – That’s pretty tasty! I really want, Ariana, I think she likes onion rings. Let’s see how she feels about onion rings that are on a burger. – [Voice Actor] Oh yeah. – [Rhett Laughs] Get hold of that, a little bit of that. (Rhett laughs) – I couldn’t get a bite, sorry. I usually eat hands free because I don’t wanna stain my beautiful gloves. (crew laughs) – So we each can indicate our independent answer with a little disc we’re gonna throw up there. – Something about maybe the onions of it all could be like a Grinch thing. I could see there being some kind of Grinch collab. What does Grinch think about onion? – Oh yeah. Give me those num-nums so I have the energy to ruin Arbor Day! (Rhett laughs) (crew laughs) – He’s expanding to others. – I’m gonna ruin so many holidays! He seemed to really enjoy that and so I’m actually gonna go with that as my guess for the burger. – You know what? I actually think this is a more recent promotion – Really? – from Denny’s. I think this is Charli D’Amelio. I just think that Denny’s is throwing money at the TikTok stars. – That’s right, they sure are! And you know who else is? MeUndies! (Rhett laughs) Use promo code, I’m dancing back here. Whoop-adup-adup-adeep-babup. (crew laughs) That’s the sound of dancing! – Yeah, it is. I would feed you Charli, but this tastes too good. I’m kind of- – It’s real good. – Yeah, whatever I could buy and sell your ass. (bright jingle) – Quick reminder, Good Mythical Evening, the second one is coming up on September 1st. – Hey, Gollum. – Yes? – Did you catch Good Mythical Evening the first time around? – Oh, I did. You were so filthy, Rhettses and Linkses! I liked the bits but you swore far too much. Gollum is very religious! (Rhett laughs) (Link laughs) – Well, we apologize about any offense, but you know what? – We’re doing it again. – It’s gonna happen again this year, Good Mythical Evening 2022! A live ticketed event, this year exclusively on Moment House. September 1st, get y’all tickets at goodmythicalevening.com. – Let’s see what we got here, Rhett. – [Rhett] That popcorn’s real, if you wanted a bit. – No, I want, ooh, funnel cake. – [Stevie] This IHOP menu item in front of you is made up of two golden crispy funnel cakes, lightly dusted with powdered sugar and topped with glazed, strawberries, whipped cream and sprinkles. – So it’s a very cheery-looking thing. Wednesday, I can’t imagine you liking something this cheery. – You know what? I mean, I’m not made of stone. Everybody loves funnel cake. This is freaking great. (crew laughs) Now, if you’ll, excuse me I have to go inspire a teen to write terrible poetry in a spiral notebook. (crew laughs) – Now, I know Michelangelo from the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, he’s into pizza, but would this translate? A Christmas-themed funnel cake? – Whoa, all right! This is better than when I made amends to everyone I had wronged! (crew laughs) – [Link] Did Stevie say this was Christmas-themed or is that something you’re interpreting? – [Rhett] It’s got red and green- – Balls. – balls on it. So I think this is probably actually the Grinch, which I already guessed. – Yep, you can’t guess it. Is there a switch-arooney later, though? – Yeah. – Yeah, there is. – Well Rhett, you really help me out here because I mean, it- – You didn’t see that it was Christmas-themed? Dang, I should have been quiet. – But it could be ironically “Hocus Pocus”, which wasn’t released around Halloween anyway. It was released in July of whatever year that was. All right, so I’m gonna go with “The Grinch”. I have to. – I mean, because of the Christmas theme, I am gonna go with “Elf on the Shelf” because he’s also a Christmas theme. – Yeah, that’s right! Do I get a bite for bringing your dad so many loofas for Christmas? – Yeah. – I think this is a red herring. – Come on! – I don’t think the Elf on the shelf has done any collaboration. – You think “Elf on the Shelf” is a little Elf on the nose? – Yeah. It’s just nobody does anything with that. – Elf on the nose was solid. You should’ve got more for that. – Yeah right. (crew laughs) (bright jingle) – What we got now? – [Stevie] The Dunkin’ drink before you is a caramel-flavored cold brew coffee topped with sweet cold foam and cinnamon sugar topping. (sonic boom) – Hi, Chase. Good to see you yet again. – You just gave this to me like two seconds ago. Link, how does this thing work? – Have you tried turning that yellow thing? – This? (sonic crackling) – What does the yellow thing do? – I don’t know. Dunkin’ Donuts. – Okay. – I also don’t know about this. – Caramel and cinnamon, you say? Cinnamon. – [Link] Cold brew, you say? – [Stevie] Yes. – Well, I know that Ariana had a little bit of an incident at some place where she was kinda being a little naughty person. Oh, Ariana, were you being naughty? – At some donut shop or something. Was that Dunkin’? That wouldn’t make any sense. – M-hm! That’s true, I was grabbing donuts with my prehensile ponytail. (Rhett laughs) – Gross! – Wow! – Dang, that’s good! I usually don’t like Dunkin’. That’s really good. (crew laughs) – See, cold brew is a- – Ariana just had a moment of honesty. (crew laughs) – Is more of a recent trend. – But think about cold brew like- – Went off of that. – But witches brew, witches brew potentially. – [Voice Actor] Yes, yes, yes! Hmm! – Don’t wake up your sisters. – No, don’t wake them up. You’ll notice our voices aren’t that different. – I think you’ve woken them up. I think it just has happened. – Nope, I didn’t! I didn’t! – [Rhett] They seem wide awake. – Their eyes are open. – Everybody seems wide awake. – Hey, who woke me up? (Rhett laughs) I also woke up! (crew laughs) We’re gonna go back to sleep now and not talk anymore. (crew laughs) – Are your eyes gonna stay open though? – I’ll ask them when they wake up then. (Rhett laughs) – Okay, I think this is a fall treat. “The Addams Family” is probably a fall movie release, relatively recent, like you said. And so I’m thinking this might be Wednesday Adams. What do you think about that, Wednesday? – Hmm, that’s good. Better than clove cigarettes which my fans eat by the handful. (Rhett laughs) (crew laughs) – Okay, that’s all I needed to hear. I’m going locking in “The Addams Family”. – I’m gonna go with Ariana. (bright jingle) Lift the corn. Pizza! – [Stevie] This round, you’re looking at a Pizza Hut pizza. More specifically a Hawaiian pizza topped with a green ranch drizzle. – Well, know where we’re starting here, right? – Yeah, all right! Cowabunga! – [Link] There it is, okay. – [Rhett] He looks like he’s just sucking the pizza. – [Link] He’s sucking on it. – Don’t take it outta my mouth, I need it! – You want? What is happening? Okay, yeah, pace yourself, by the way. – He’s got a turtle mouth. He’s not used to this. – I mean, it’s green drizzle. – How could this not be? – On a Hawaiian pizza. – But I mean, green also makes some sense when you talk about Gollum, spending all that time down there. – Do you think Gollum’s green? – I mean he’s more pale, but- – No, no, ah! (crew laughs) No! I’m lactose intolerant! I told you at the top of the thing! I’m gonna fill up my little diaper that I have on. (crew laughs) – Yeah, it’s like a loin cloth. – It’s pretty tasty. – Yeah, now it weighs four more pounds. – (laughing) Wow, that was quick! – He only likes raw fish. Hmm, hmm. – I mean, how could this not be? You think that Michelangelo might be – Too obvious. – another red herring? – Too obvious. Man, what restaurant is this? – [Stevie] Pizza Hut. – [Link] I gotta go for it. – I mean, this is the best guess. I can’t think of anything else unless you’re trying to deceive us! (bright jingle) And finally- – Pancakes! – [Stevie] These are buttermilk pancakes from IHOP topped with a cupcake icing and carefully patterned with chocolate syrup and topped with violet whipped cream. – Carefully patterned into a spiderweb. – It does look very web-ish. So is there any, there’s not really any, any Spider-Man on the board. But there’s the “Hocus Pocus” ladies. Wake up, girls! – Just me again! (crew laughs) – I wonder if they can eat at the same time, you know, since there’s three of them. (crew laughs) – Yeah, we’re awake! – [Rhett] Wow, so quick! So quick. – You know what? I bet we can all three finish the pancakes together. (Rhett laughs) Come on, let’s do it! (crew laughs) – You want to? – Well, I think I’m gonna have some for myself. – I’m thinking a little too hard here. – It just looks a little good here. How could this not be Wednesday Adams, which again, I’ve already guessed? – Right, with the purple. Wednesday, you’re a popular gal today. I’m choosing you. – Thank you. – She looks like she might want some, Link. – Give me some cakes. (Rhett laughs) All right, okay. All right. Fool me once. (crew laughs) Give me a bite. I was on the T-shirt of the worst person you ever dated. (both laugh) – Come on, feed her! – Oh, here’s some. I feel bad using the same fork that I used with the “Hocus Pocus” gals. – Yeah, right, I hadn’t thought about that. – Rhett, you wanna do Wednesday, but you can’t. – [Rhett] So I’m gonna do the closest thing to real-life Wednesday Adams, Charli D’Amelio. – Ouch! – No, I’m just saying in terms of the options that we’ve been presented with. How’s that sound, Charli? – Sounds great. (Rhett laughs) That sugar will give me the energy I need to keep dancing! Which I am! – You don’t need to reduce yourself to just someone who dances. I mean, you do plenty of stuff on the internet, right? – I plug MeUndies! (Rhett laughs) So that’s two things. – All right, so we- – That can be taken a few different ways. – Stevie, we’ve locked in (crew laughs) all the way. Can you tell us how – Hey Rhett, high five! – many we have right? (Rhett laughs) (crew laughs) – [Stevie] Link! You have two out of five correct. – And I think I have zero. – Okay. – Rhett. You have two out of five correct as well. – Oh, so this is gonna be interesting. – [Rhett] Oh my goodness. – So where am I changing to you? Where do I think you’re right? So we both agreed here, so I don’t think we’re gonna end up changing this. (audio squiggling) We’re locked in, Stevie. – [Stevie] All right, let’s go through a little reveal, shall we? “The Hobbit” tie-in meal was Denny’s The Ring Burger. – Oh yes! – Yes, the ring, oh! That’s obvious. – [Rhett] Ah, yeah, yeah. – [Stevie] Which was a part of a full Denny’s feature menu to promote 2012’s “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey”. – What made you choose that ’cause you didn’t even make the ring connection? – Just because “The Hobbit” had to be one of them because of the marketing budget that they had. – Okay, all right. – It was just a loose guess. – [Stevie] Ariana Grande’s meal does not exist. – Okay, so, all right. – You’re hurting now. – [Stevie] The “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” tie-in meal was the green Hawaiian pizza, created to promote the cartoon series. – We know you won because you did the same thing on everything else. – [Stevie] It was on a special dish on a 2021 Pizza Hut menu featuring Mutagen ranch, which is the- – Mutagen. – It’s very tasty, very tasty. – Don’t put it on your turtles. – [Stevie] “The Addams Family” tie-in meal was the IHOP Wednesday’s Web Cakes promoting the 2019 release of the 3D computer animated “Addams Family” movie. The Sanderson sisters from “Hocus Pocus” did not have a pop culture tie-in featured. – Not yet! – 1993. – But their long-awaited film sequel is out in September. The iconic “Elf on the Shelf” did indeed have an entire featured menu at IHOP in 2019, including the Oh, What Funnel Cakes. – Dang it, I shouldn’t have moved that one! – Yep. – Dang it! – [Stevie] The Charli D’Amelio menu item was Dunkin’s the Charli Cold Foam, which debuted in 2021. (bell dings) And “The Grinch” tie-in meal was not featured on today’s menu, but IHOP did have a Grinch menu with green pancakes in 2018 to promote the more recent animated film, which means Rhett, you got three correct, and Link, you got four correct. – Boom! – Link, you win and that means you get a kiss from your favorite celebrity character up here. – Now… Charlie is 18. (crew laughs) – Okay, yep. Thanks for clarifying. – But you know. I like a older woman and I really like Bette Midler. – Charli is not 18, apparently. – Well, that’s what my research says. You know, she was born on May 1st, 2000. – Oh, there was extreme dissension (laughs). She just turned 18. – Yeah. – [Stevie] She freshly 18. – Not gonna happen anyway. – I keep track of these things. (crew laughs) I’m a much bigger fan of Bette Midler and maybe I’ll just go in for a little, little- – Oh god! Boy, I’m so glad I did not get that last one right. – Okay! (Rhett laughs) – Wow, you look like you surprised her, Link. – I was sleeping until recently. – Oh, and your voice finally changed. – It was magical. – You just went through puberty (laughs). – Thanks for subscribing and clicking that bell. – Now, you guys say, you know what time it is? – [All] You know what time it is? – Hi, I’m Lucia Thomas. – And I’m Benjamin Thomas. – [Both] And we we’re from Kansas City, Missouri.
