Can our premier palates detect award-winning snacks? Let's talk about that. Good Mythical Morning. This Sunday, two football teams will compete for the biggest award in football. It's a trophy. An award-winning football watching deserves some award-winning snacks, don't you think? I do think, but can we identify those winners just by tasting them? Okay, boys, first up, you've got various Dubai chocolate snacks from four different brands in front of you. One of these won the 2025 Sweets and Snacks Expo's Most Innovative New Product Award in the category of gourmet slash premium confections. Snacks are tested by a panel of 40 plus judges in four weighted categories. Mm-hmm. Innovation, taste, packaging, and saleability. Okay. They don't have a internet show do they? I don't, I I haven't, I haven't consumed it if they do. No it's too, it's too long of a title. Yep, yep, yep. You couldn't fit it on one line. Leave it to us. Innovative. So we're looking for innovation. Innovative. Why don't you try that first one, it is Astor, Astor, Chocolate GudLife, Dubai style mint confection cookies and cream. Mint confection. What does that mean? Okay. Whoa. It's not. That tastes good. Subtle mint. Yeah, it's not too minty, which. Cookies and cream with a middle of mint. Typically when you eat a mint chocolate thing, the mint hits so hard, but this hits you with the chocolate first, the cookie, second, and then the mint third. Dude, this is a mint third situation. But where's Dubai? That's very innovative. There's a little bit of a crunch, but not much. It is Dubai style. It tastes good. I'm a huge fan of Dubai Chocolate, thanks to this show. I was introduced to it. This show? This show. Oh, I thought you were gonna say this show. Good Mythical Morning. Say it. Uh, Good Mythical Morning. Next product is. Good Mythical morning. Madigan's Dubai Chocolate Spread. Okay. I'm a fan of spread. I'm a fan of spreading. Spreading spread. Spreading, well, we'll just leave it at spread, but I'm gonna use a spoon and I'm gonna spread it under my mouth. Hmm. We got a goober grape situation here. Um, so you can't call this innovative because goober did it first, technically Smuckers. Mm-hmm. A big fan of that. Hmm. This is not as crunchy as I hoped. Dubai chocolate, you gotta have that crunch. It tastes good. So it's, it, it's basically Nutella and then, uh, sorry for the double dip. I'm gonna try to get more of just the brown stuff. Pistachio cream is what that is. That's good. Oh lord. And. That's good too. Kataifi. And moving on to Puffy Pop, Dubai Chocolate Popcorn. Hmm. This might be innovative because it's putting it on popcorn. You think we could figure out how to do that? Big chunks, we got three corns together. Hmm. There's something odd on that for you. Oh, definitely. It's like bad icing. Ooh, gross. Boy, this can't win an award. I, I can't even finish it. I can't finish it. It's, it's the, the tongue of my face is telling the brain of my head to stop eating this. Also a horrible, horrible design. Can we just say that? So. That's not award-winning. So this one, this one's the worst. Well, that's not what you're picking. Okay. I know, but I just demonstrated that if it was, that's what I would've done. Oh, good. Uh, the last one is Edward Mark Dubai Style Chocolate Strawberry Pistachio Truffle Bites. Well, there's a lot going on there, and I will say it's beautiful packaging. The color combo is just inviting and inspiring. I can see Jessie using this and turning a bathroom into this, these colors. I was gonna say, let's get a bunch of them. I'll cut 'em out. Oh yeah. I'll weave it together and get, make it a wallpaper for her. That's a good idea. Mm-hmm. Candy and snack packaging wallpaper. There's a full strawberry in there. That is what it tasted like, very gummy quality to it. Okay, before you. I'm a fan. You pick the one that you think won the award. What are you thinking in terms of your own favorites? I'm really surprised by this it won me over. Anything with mint chocolate I love, but the fact that it's subtle mint, third place mint, which is something I've never experienced before. Uhhuh. That's definitely my favorite. Okay, you ready to choose the award winning snack? In three, two, one. You going for this? No. I think this is the most innovative thing ever. I mean, the combinations, the flavor, the coloring. The award-winning Dubai chocolate snack is said to feature a luxurious combination of pistachio cream swirled with chocolate hazelnut, and then layered with de delicate golden kataifi. Kataifi. Yeah. Kataifi. For that irresistible crunch, that you said it did not have, yeah. Madigan's Dubai Chocolate Spread in bowl number two. Maybe we didn't spread hard enough. Yep. Sometimes you gotta spread. Further. Really, really far. Stretch 'em apart. Mm-hmm. Next we've got some special meat snacks. One of these won the 2023 Sweets and Snacks Expo's Most Innovative New Product Award in the meat snacks category. Also, just so you know what you're playing for the loser of today's game has to do snack raps. Snack raps. Oh, I know. I want you to lose. Why don't you start off with those Grazly Bison Liver Crisps. Oh, no. Oh no. No thank you. They're so paper thin. Maybe this will make us love liver. This is just a slice of bison liver. Oh, it smells like liver. You can tell. Gentle. I know you don't like it, man. I gotta tell you. It's horrible. It's awful. It is the most tolerable liver I've ever had. I don't want more than the tiny little bite that I took. I don't, I don't. And it's getting worse. I don't love you. Inside my mouth. I hate you. Th, this is like, you know the first dried meat, that's the worst one. The first dried meat had to be somebody walking up to a old bison or something like that, and it was just dry and they were like pulling strips off of it and they were like, this isn't bad. Like, that's how we got what we get now. And this is just like you walked up to the liver and just shaved a little bit off. That's what we just did. But doing that. It's almost like outdoors men. In this day and age, um. Not, not necessary. I feel like it's a probably a dog treat situation. Okay, the next plate has Tillamook's, did we say till, Tillamook. Someone has a problem with one of us saying Tillamook incorrectly. I recently heard Josh say Tillamook uh. Tillamook. In a Mythical kitchen video. And he said Tillamook. And no one, no one put up a fit for that. He didn't say Mook, Tillamook. One of us got slammed for it, but we, I just, I can't keep track anymore. Um, Country Smoker Beef Smoked Sausages with Mike's Hot Honey. That's a fun collaboration because, the hot honey hits and you can't just walk up to a dead bison pull this out. Mm-hmm. Because you gotta get the hot honey. That bison died crawling out of a hot honey hole. We'll see if we can, uh, recreate that for another episode. I think you like this. I think I like it a lot. I think you like it a lot. Um, the thing I, I will say I'm not a huge fan of added flavor to meat snacks. 'cause I think the meat snacks that are just a little bit salty, a little bit peppery are really good. That's where it's at. But, we're talking about innovation here. This is satisfying. And I can't tell you how they got the honey and the sausage. I'm gonna give you this so you can eat it. But that is the story that I told my children when I taught them about the birds and the bees. The honey and the sausage. But it was actually called how you get the sausage in the honey. Okay, this is Carnal Jerky, black truffle and black garlic beef sticks. They said, thank you dad. Strong truffle. This is like a bison that only ate truffle and then died and then. Hold on. Went up there and on. But it, this is a cow. It's a cow. Yeah, I'm just using, I'm making it seem more wild because cows are like a domesticated animal. And finally that is Jack Link's Doritos Spicy Sweet Chili Beef Jerky. Now, I can go ahead and tell you right now this is gonna be good, but I just don't think that Jack enters these types of contests because it feels beneath him. They're like, we don't have to do that. We're on the shelves everywhere already. I can't really taste the Doritos. I can taste the spicy sweet chili flavor, which. This is a really good Dorito. But it's unnecessary, it's like Doritos took something that would be on, uh, beef jerky and put it on their chips, and then now they put it back on the beef jerky. So get rid of the middleman. You know what I'm saying? All right, I'm ready. Okay, so you guys like the Tillamook one the best? It is the best tasting one. But the award-winning one in three, two, one. It's gotta be this one. Oh, nope. This feels like the kind of brand that would be in one of these contests. And also I think that they would, the truffle would get the judges excited. Yeah. The award-winning snack is described as having a bold, epic mashup that will make your taste buds scream, it's Jack Link's Doritos Spicy Sweet Chili. No. You don't need this, Jack. You don't need this, Jack. Thinking is so beneath you. Come on, Link. Moving on to some healthy-ish snacks. One of these has won Self Magazines 2025 Pantry Award for most fun, healthy snack. Self is a primarily women run magazine that focuses on health, wellness, and inclusivity. And multiple judges scored the products based on taste, packaging, satisfaction, and overall excitement to eat. And as a little hint, the winning product describes itself as raw, uninhibited, inspired. Raw, uninhibited. Love it. Well, I. Raw, uninhibited, and inspired, I trust women. Well, I wanna take issue with Self being a women's only thing because, I've really, I've been a subscriber for many years, but I've just kept it to myself. Ayo. Why don't you taste those S'noods, Spicy Miso Ramen Chips. So, what's healthy about 'em? They're light and crunchy. They are. They taste good. Something else? Lentils. I knew you'd like 'em. Yes, but it does, the seasoning, it really sends it into ramen territory, even though it's a, it is a lentil under there. What, what were the three words again? Shocking. Uh, raw, uninhibited, inspired. Raw, uninhibited, inspired. Raw. Do you feel that way about those? I don't. Yeah. Well, I feel a little uninhibited. Um, I wanna try my, my Self subscription joke again and, and this time gimme a little something. Okay. Okay. You know, I'm, um, I take issue with Self being a women's only magazine. I've been a subscriber for years, but I've just kept it to myself. You kept Self to yourself, you. Yeah. Do you? Have you ever taken a selfie with it? You wouldn't because you're. Well, that's too much. Now we've gone too far. What is this? That is Elavi Peanut Butter Chocolate Protein Brownies. I'm tasting. There's no way this tastes good to a normal person. What is that supposed to mean? Meaning you never know what's gonna happen when this man tastes something. Are you saying that the women at Self are not normal people? I don't believe that the women at Self, because I'm very familiar with them, would pick this. That's all I'm gonna say. There's nothing bold and raw about that. I don't know, it seems completely uncooked, which is raw. It's a little hibited though. It tastes, yeah, it tastes just like a regular old protein situation. Now, I've been waiting for this one. Well, this is Gelée. Passion Gelée. Gelée. Gelée. Read the rim here. All the stuff that it says about this. Fruit fiber, collagen rich, antioxidant abundant, pre and probiotic, no added sugar, gut brain balancing. So this is basically everything that you need. Fruit fiber. Oh. Gut brain balancing. I, I love the consistency of something like this. I love it. Now it's not in here. You have to mix it and make it. Aware. Heard. So is that, is that like the, so you say aware if you've heard it, but you already knew it. So aware is the. Aware is the new heard. Aware is the, I heard you, but I already knew it. Well. Heard is, I heard you and I now know it. Aware is what we, we like to call ourselves, the Selfies. It's what, it's amongst the Selfie community in our forums, um, that's what we say. Aware. They got forums there. I, I do really like it. Yeah, we got forums. The last one is Wilde Buffalo Style Protein Chips. Did we have these in real life or on this show? I think, no, I think you had them on the show, but I'm not sure if it was this flavor of them. Thank you. And you went wild over 'em. Yeah, I liked 'em, I still do. Very bold flavor. I gotta remember these. I forgot it was Buffalo and I just thought it was cheesy. I told you I like to dip these in Greek yogurt. Oh, you know what? Every once in a while I got something creamy. Every once in a while. Trying that I'm trying to dip. Mm-hmm. And I think, I don't want to go in there and get those like chips that Shepherd's been eating and from Trader Joe's that are bad for me. I need something healthy, I gotta have these. Ready. Well, you kind of like, well, before you vote on the award one, is it you like Gelée, the, you like Wilde the best. Yeah, one of these olive oils won Best of Show in the California Olive Oil Council's 2025 Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition. The winning product combines frantoio, coratina, and pendolino olives to create a rich, fruity flavor that is smooth but also tangy. I love olive oil. In fact, I have a spoonful every day and I already had it. Rich. One of the first things I do, I wake up, open Self, spoonful of olive oil. I wake up open Self, insert coffee. Open Self. All right. What, so what were those adjectives again? Rich. Rich, fruity flavor that is smooth, but also tangy. I think going spoons straight is a good idea here. Fruity, tangy, rich. And what were the three olives? Don't, you don't have to say 'em again. Okay. I'm definitely getting stronger signals from. What kind of signals? The first one, then the second one. Oh, now that I'm going straight spoon on that one. Wow. Yeah. That one's very, that one's, that one's different. Okay. All right, now that I'm fully lubed. Choose the award winning olive oil in three, two, one. Ah. I'm thinking this one is so different. It is. I couldn't tell the difference in these three. Could you? This was the worst one. The winner of the 2025 EVOO Competition, Best of Show Award was Birch Creek Olive Orchard's Italian Blend in the little bowl number. One. Yeah. Hey. It's so different, dude. I mean, it has all of those different two olives, both of 'em. It is tasty. Which one is this? Coratina. Second one is Calistoga Press. Wow. We have packaging if you wanna look at all of them. But you're saying they're all considered good? None, none of 'em are, are like. These are all, yes, they're all the best of the best, but the first one is the best. The third one is Grove 45 Familia Blend. The last one is Rancho Milagro Field Blend. This is high quality oil. None of 'em had that like, uh, sometimes the oil tastes rancid, and they all, none of them did. This one just didn't have a lot of flavor or anything. Finally, we're ending on caviar. One of these won the 2025 World Caviar Awards, First Place for the Transmontanus category. Say again? Transmontanus is the scientific name for white sturgeon. Oh, a white sturgeon. Have you seen how big a sturgeon can get. Google, hm, big sturgeon. How big, how, no, I ha I haven't. Okay. This is something you Google. I, as a child, somebody showed me a picture of a sturgeon in a book and I was like, hmm, that can't be right. How big do you think the, the, the, the fish that these eggs come out of? Just by way of measurement with your arms, give me how big you think it is. Well, I mean, I can't go past. You can't because you don't have arms long enough. Alright. If we had a sturgeon sitting on this desk right now, his head or her head would be over here off camera and her tail would be over off that camera. Well it's the same camera. Because your other subscription is to Sturgeon Magazine. No, just Field and Stream. Okay. Um, the key focus for the judges in this competition were appearance, texture, and taste. These are, uh, international experts who taste all of these winning Caviars. And the winning product describes itself as having a large bead with a beautiful burst of creamy, nutty flavor. A large bead. I did not, those beads are a little smaller, I didn't get a nutty burst in my mouth. As much as I'd want that I didn't get one. You know, I, anything that comes in a shoe polish can, shouldn't be eaten. Can't argue with that. That first one is a Plantin Kaviari. And what's this one? The next one is American Caviar Co. Hmm. Yeah, look at that. See that? That's a royal white sturgeon. Imagine that on this desk. But imagine it going off that side and this side. Oh, see that? So there's just a huge fish here. So I, you know what? I don't wanna ask the editors to do this, but just that they felt like it. If they felt like taking the little sturgeon on this and blowing it up to show you how big it would be as a real sturgeon. Oh, they did it. Oh. Oh, they did it. Oh. Can you believe that? We're looking at it. I can't even see the head of this woman, sir, sturgeon. I can't see where the eggs come out either. It's a woman. Whoa. And now, oh, she's, she's dissolving. Don't, don't leave us. Don't leave us. Don't leave. She's gone. Put a dissolve on that. How much better is that one? Hold on, I. A little better. I almost feel like you might like sturgeon if we, if it always tasted like that. I know. It's not bad. Like it's weirdly good. I never get this unless somebody puts it on something. It's still black eggs dude. Well, I don't let what something is called. It is not called. Determine how much I like. Black eggs. Don't let your preconceived notions impact the way you feel about something. This one is California Caviar Queens Reserve White Sturgeon. Oh, now we're back to just as bad as the first one. Super fishy. Yeah. Oh God. Which is what you would expect, right? Yeah. Yeah. It's meeting my expectations. Mm-hmm. And the last one is Olma Caviar. You first, this is the. Olma God. This is the blackest of all the black eggs. Oh. I know, right? It's a big, it's a big bead though. Yeah. But it tastes like mold. You know what? I can't win. I can't win, I'm so. Well, I could make it. Far in the honey hole right now. I could make it interesting, um. But don't. But I don't want to. 'cause if I lose, I get to snack rap. I won't, I I kind of want him to snack rap. Yeah. That's my, kind of my thing. I want him to give, give his snappy snack raps in Good Mythical More, so, uh, I'm not going to, uh, uh, participate in this round, even. I can't, I can't lose any. You're not gonna participate. The award-winning caviar is the California Caviar, Queens Reserve White Sturgeon, number three. Oh, okay, Rhett. Well, this one should have won. I might be taking that home.
