Can we find the next best thing to apples and peanut butter? Let's talk about that. Good Mythical Morning. Apple slices and peanut butter are an iconic snack combo, I don't care how old you are. But what if one day all the peanut butter in the world disappeared? No. Yes, hypothetically. So in this hypothetical hellscape it is so Rhett. No. Yes it is. But we'd still need to dip our apple slices into something. Raw doggin' apples is not where it's at, fam. Yep. Mm-hmm. So let's find the best runner up fam. It's time for Next Best Thing, Apples and Peanut Butter Edition. Okay, let's get a few things out of the way. First, we are gonna taste the original. Mm-hmm. Also, we've heard your feedback. A lot of times we do this next best thing and we skip over a lot of other things that might be commonly the things that you have as your next best thing, like french fries and ranch instead of ketchup. Well, you know what? We heard. And we're gonna make a little adjustment because we're so flexible. Say fam. We're getting a little bit old fam, but we are still pretty flexible for a couple old guys. And so, uh. Try that. We're gonna be trying things that other people put on apples like caramel. But we're still gonna be trying some stuff that we think is gonna blow our minds and your minds. 'Cause we don't know what they are. They thought it would blow all of our minds and we're gonna see if we can deliver on that. Oh, that's good. I know. What we're not gonna do though, is try any other nut butters. Yeah. I mean, cashew butter, walnut butter, all the type of butters. I don't, you know? Yeah, 'cause if you're not allergic. They're all too similar to this. If you're not allergic to one of the nuts. So good. We can't hear you be talking about different nut butters. Peanut butter boys. Nobody wants to hear you talk about that. I didn't, I just don't wanna be disappointed at some point. I wanna be wowed. Let's get to it. Okay, boys, your first peanut butter alternative is caramel, or caramel. Caramel. Caramel. Um, caramel. Caramel. This is what they do at McDonald's, right? Don't they give you, if you get the apple slices, they give you a little thing of caramel? I think so. You ever done that before? I don't think so. And how do you feel about it? You don't like caramel? Mm-mm. Their apple slices are, are skinned. Yeah. Don't believe in that either. And I like, I like a little bit of skin. You can get some skin. But you, you gotta admit. Mm. That's pretty good. I mean. Right. It's no peanut butter, but it could be the next best thing. Hold on, I didn't think you liked it though. You don't like it when it's in a, in a chocolate, but you like it? I don't like it when I bite it and then it gets stuck in my teeth. But this is sauce. So this is sauce, apparently you can put it in a coffee. Authentic coffee house flavor. That's good. I don't need to do it again though. I have so many to go for. Come on Rhett, that's right. Your, your inner voice is protecting you. This is the next best thing right now. Next up is cheese fondue. Cheese fondue. Swiss Knight. What is this? The FLL dance. Ha ha. I get it. Remember that night? Yeah. What a night. We took our dates to the melting pot. Melting pot. And we, we and we got swissed up. Dang. And this is Emmi brand, is your one time stepsister gone on to start a new brand of cheese. Um. That's 'cause you don't keep in touch with her. That's not, yes. Yep. It's, it's kind like a lifelong, like. You need to get in touch with Emmi, so you can tell her that you now like music because you've learned that two people in the same house can like music. But we're not in the same house anymore. My mom divorced her dad and I started liking music. I regret that your mom divorced her second husband. Well, that's not pertinent. I mean, what? I mean, he was a, he was a cool guy. He was cool. Had a cool van. Mustache. Mustache. He was handy. Built a tree house one time. Yeah, he did. Let's eat this. But yeah, this is not how Emmi spelled her name, so. Oh, that's not her then. So I shouldn't even have brought it up. Ah, I should be using a fork. This cheese is kind of. It is very Swiss. Cheeses contains Swiss cheeses, aged over 60 days with white wine and kirsch. Hmm. You're supposed to do bread and they say you could put cooked ham or smoked meat in it, but they don't say apples. It's, I mean, it certainly works. You know how you put, you put a slice of cheese on a apple pie. Some people do that. Yeah. Midwesterners. Yeah. It's in the same family. Um, but I think this is gonna be a tough one to pull off on Link, even if I really loved it, which I don't, I like it. It's not, it's not as good. And you still got. As the caramel. You still got a little beef with Emmi, even though he really doesn't like to talk about it. Yep. Well, I mean, you know, she had her own sink, but the things that would stay in her stink. Stink. Forget about it. Her sink stinks. Let's move on to Honey. Honey. Honey on an apple slice. Never done that. Man, if the bees could watch us now, see us doing this, we're taking a fruit that comes from a plant that they need to pollinate at some point when it's just a flower. And then we're taking the thing that they make, which is technically bee vomit, that they get from the pollen, and we're taking the fruit that comes later and we're dipping it back into the thing that they vomit out because of the flowers that preceded these. Well, I'm doing it. You're just talking about it. Mm. But think about the bees. The bees are. The bees man. They have a hive mind. And they're vomiting? Is so, and it's imp it's important. This is the best tasting vomit on the planet. It's so magical. It's a lot of sweet on sweet. Well, so is caramel, but there's something about caramel that's burnt. Yeah, there's so. I think this is too sweet. It's too redundant. I don't think the bees would approve now that I've done it. I love honey though. We'll see. I just, I just, it makes me not like apples. Save it, and when you have a little sour moment in the afternoon, you can dip your finger in there. And I will. Yeah. Moving on to Greek yogurt. The Greeks put protein in their yogurt. How? Oh, we haven't figured it out. I don't know. We're not Greek. And they make a mean meatball too. They, do you ever put a meatball in yogurt? I have put a yogurt sauce on a meatball. Yeah, there you go. I mean, we'd be tempted to add the honey from the last round, but we can't do that. Nope. Hmm. Yeah. That's refreshing. Yeah, it's light. It feels healthy. Yes, it does. If now this has become an edifying snack for my future performance. Yeah, I really. Whereas this caramel over here. Boy, yeah. Are we, do we take into account health consequences on this show? I feel good. I, if we start doing that, then we change everything. No, I don't think we do that, I just feel good. You remember 2026 when Rhett and Link started making healthy choices on Good Mythical Morning, remember that? We don't want, we don't need that for people. I'm sure we wouldn't have done it a whole year. Mm-hmm. We might would've done it a month. You remember when they started and immediately stopped. Yeah. I like it. But right now we're starting, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. I like it better. I feel good. I feel edified. I got protein. Where's the caramel? Future performance. But do you remember tasting this? Do you remember tasting it? Not really. Remember. I don't like caramel. Oh God, come on. It just doesn't taste good. It is a little strong. It tastes burnt or something. Just like you were saying. Greek yogurt. It's, it is taking it in a different direction, it's a. I do like the fact that unexpected. This is an anytime snack. And I'll save this for me when I have a sour moment. And you will. Yep. Maple syrup. We're getting sweet again. See, I'm glad we did this 'cause now we're able to see if we should go back to sweet. Oh, that's very. You know, that just comes from a tree. Yeah, you just tap a tree. It's like making a tree bleed. It's like if I poked you in the knee and then we didn't put a bandaid on it and we put a little cup next to the wound all day and then we collected what came out of it and dipped apples in it. Mm-hmm. That's what basically we're doing, if you were a tree. That's where the phrase tap that came from. Mm-hmm. It's too liquidy. Yeah. It's not sticking. It needs to be Buttersworth. It doesn't stick because it's pure maple syrup. Do we have Mrs. Buttersworth? It tastes good. Apparently not. But it makes me want to eat a pancake, not an apple. The, the consistency is the problem. If it was thick, it's not thick. When I dipped my apple in something, I want to know I've dipped it. I don't wanna forget. If I dipped this and then I went on and did something else, got into a conversation, sent an email. Mm-hmm. I go back to it and forgot that I dipped it. That doesn't happen with yogurt. Alright, who, who'd you send the email to? Don't answer that. Let's try pumpkin pie. Knit. Knit. What. He's taking Russian. Now, have you noticed? Have you noticed he's been speaking Russian? That's good, you used it in natural conversation. Nyet. As Stevie was talking, you just said no. Now. Oh yes. We're getting creative. Okay. This is different. This is something that hasn't occurred to you. Pumpkin pie, or punkin pie. Punkin. Punkin. Now as we're figuring out whether or not we like that, if you're the kind of person who believes in magic, I want you to look away. Okay? Watch this. Get a close up of this. This just looks like a nice slice of pumpkin pie that is just standing up on its own. But we put a little plastic thing behind the crust, and if we were to remove it. Nothing would happen. That's great. Uh, nothing, nothing would happen. Well, I mean, it could fall like that. Aw. So that's, but so. Now for those of you who. Were looking away, but heard everything he was saying. No. You know what's up. Yeah. Hopefully you, hopefully you looked away and you also shut your ears. Okay. See that now? It just looked normal again. Look at that, that's little. Pumpkin pie. Movie magic is the kind of thing we do in Hollywood. Mm-hmm. Uh. I love pumpkin pie, but something about it without the crust. Is too pumpkin. It's too pumpkin. It needs crust. It needs the crust. And thankfully this one is just easily removable. And it doesn't need, it doesn't need a apple. It just doesn't. I had high hopes for this. Mm, oh. That's like an apple pie. Try that. So if you just put apples on top of your pumpkin pie. Mm-hmm. There's a reason there's a thing called an apple pie. I don't think you can have two things that should be in a pie. Not in the pie. Then you wouldn't have a pie. You can't have two things that should be in a pie and mix 'em together and think you got something. Oh yeah, yeah. Gimme an example of that. Name a pie. Blueberry cobbler. Okay, blueberry. Name another pie. Cheesecake. You can't put blueberries and cheese together. He's proven it. In celebration of the seventh year of the Mythical Society, uh, we are opening up the vault. All the cool collectibles that third degree members have had access to all these years, we're gonna open up. And the last 10 collectibles, we're selling those, okay. For all of February. So that's collectibles, like the Rhett and Link action figures, the vinyl collection, the comic book, and more. You just need to join third degree right now and you can make up for all those ones that you've missed over at MythicalSociety.com/Vault. Special stuff. Okay, we're taking things up a notch. It's blue cheese dressing time. Ooh. A blue cheese works on a lot of things. The only thing it works on for me is wings because they're so overwhelming. Have you dipped a carrot or a celery in a wing, in a, in a blue cheese when you've had it there next to a wing? Yeah, maybe some, maybe a, I mean, cel. It's so tangy. Celery is just like a, it's a vegetable spine of nothing. Yeah. Um, I don't know. I'm interested in this 'cause I'm a blue cheese guy. On an apple though. Hmm. Oh man. I just love blue cheese. This is good blue cheese. I'm liking it. Really? Mm-hmm. Woo. Yeah. It's, and and there's the sweet, the sweet. Yes. Yes, yes. Whoa. You like it? What's happening? It's an exciting day for me. I've struck the lighthouse. Hmm. Lighthouse make a good chunky blue cheese. Have you had the, um, Bob's Big Boy Blue Cheese? No. I, I I'm not a fan. Really? I don't, I don't like big boys. You said no, I'm not a fan. I'm not a fan of big boys. Whoa. What about me? You didn't taste it. Said you weren't a fan. Yeah, you don't even know. Oh, yeah. I, I know. What. Start over. You a fan of Bob's Big Boy, blue Cheese? Well, I like big boys, but. Okay, good. I, I haven't been to, uh, I've been to Bob's Big Boy once and I didn't like it. You get the blue cheese at the grocery store. Oh. You don't have to go into the restaurant if that kind of thing intimidates you. I didn't know that. And you know about the connection between Bob's Big Boy and Shoney's that we talked about before. Uh, yeah. I don't. I think, listen, I am all for this. 'Cause this is like. It has to be. Even tangier yogurt. I mean, all chunky blue cheese is, is tangy yogurt. Wow. Tangy yogurt. Wow. I don't, I don't understand. Yeah. I love it that this is happening. Up next we have egg yolk. Mm. I don't, I don't want to. Well, we have to. We don't have a choice. Do you want to? No. You don't, I thought you liked baby chicken batter. Whatever the heck that orange stuff is. I, I like a, a egg yolk in the context of an egg. And if you're like mixing it into a carbonara. And it smells the way that it smells, like, describe that smell. Eggs. It's the only thing in the world that smells like eggs is eggs. I don't, I don't like the smell. It, it took me like 20 years. Mm-hmm. Of my life in order to start eating eggs. Of any kind. Of any kind. And yesterday we had, there's like breakfast bagels in our, um, our writer's meeting. Oh yeah. And the egg was a little runny and I, I found myself being okay with it. But this is too hard. It's not going over a bagel. I'm not excited about this, if that's what you're asking. Oh, I didn't even bust it. Look at that. Oh, it's healthy. I mean, when they're orange, that means that there's something to brag about, right? Yeah. Yeah. That's a good organic. Get in there. Get in there. I gotta do the other yolk. You know, don't, don't share a yolk with another man. That's like two steer under the same yolk of a wagon. Can't have that. That's enough. I mean, yeah. Steer. Is it even. Steer are castrated though? Is it, is it even hot? And a lot of people think that we're castrated, but we're not. We just got vasectomies. Let's dink it. Nevermind. And now I'm alone over here trying to do this. Hey, I needed your help. I needed a little dink. It's amazing how much the apple cancels out the egg. It's like a egg coating. It's so subtle. Like it doesn't taste bad. It doesn't taste good, and you shouldn't do it. But like it's. It doesn't taste. It's not offputting. Yeah. Do we have pudding. Now, there you go. Then finally we have cannoli dip. You can do this. How do you do this? You just take cannolis and stick your finger in there and push it all out. You blow it? Oh, like a flute. I think you gotta put your whole hand around it to keep it from escaping and then you gotta blow it out. Oh, I busted out my cheek. I think air's coming out. Hold on. Yeah, you did it. You pulled. Do you feel a breeze? I'm gonna blow out. Oh yeah, a little bit like it is like a hole in the. Oh my god. A tire. Oh my God. You gotta put a patch on it. Put a patch. The best part of the cannoli is the middle. This is so smart. I love the way they did the little chocolate chips on top. I'm going hard with it. I went big. Oh. Is that mascarpone? What's it made out of? Mascarpone? And Ricotta. And Rico is, it is cheese. It's ricotta. And a little bit of chocolate. Hmm. Whoa. But if we recommend this, people are gonna be going and getting cannolis and just blowing 'em out everywhere. We can't do that. Putting, they're gonna have, have, have a spare cheek. People are gonna be outside of the famous cannoli places, air coming outta their cheeks. Here's what we can do. ENT doctors are gonna be booked up. Like, what's the problem with holes in cheeks? No, no, no. What's happening? We get in there, we do this, this is what's at stake. We say that this is the best thing. Yep. We go to, I, I was at this place in Boston on that little, uh, little Italy in Boston. Okay. There's a famous cannoli place there. People line up for miles for these cannolis. They buy 'em, hand 'em to you, you blow 'em out. No, they start blowing 'em out. They get holes in their cheeks. We are standing by with little inner tube patches that we sell to people that match their skin color. We have basically the whole gamut and we, that, this is the new way. We're cheek patchers. Yeah, we are. Yes. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. This stuff is so good. And it's called, called, how do you say something about Patch Adams, but Patch. Patch. Um. Adams Apple adjacent. Okay. That's gonna be. Adams Apple adjacent. That's a long acronym. But anyway, we're gonna be there in Boston. I'm just eating. This stuff just needs to be in, in, in, uh, Tupperwares at, at the Ralph's Deli. And I think you can just, which side did you blow? Yeah, that. That other side. This needs to be in a package. Come on, grocery people. Isn't as good as blue cheese. I don't know. I never would've said it was. It's so tangy. This needs to be its own thing. But it, it doesn't beat the blue cheese because you've got this, this juxtaposition that I can't argue with. And if you think that we've lost credibility today, just understand that we've never had it. Thanks for commenting and sharing this video. Oh, are we gonna celebrate this? Yeah, we should celebrate it. Do we have something to put on it? Yeah. Like a crown? Yeah. It didn't need one. Yeah, not a crown. All right. Thanks for commenting and sharing this video. Already said that. You know what time it is. I didn't say that. I'm Rose. I'm Alden. We're from Salt Lake City. And we're doing an apple taste test. And it's time to spin the Wheel of Mythicality. Yeah, I mean, it's crazy. Hey, get you some blue cheese. From Bob's Big Boy apparently. But whatever you do. Under no circumstances should you Google, centipede birth. Click the top link to watch us guess if six tacos are heavier than seven chipmunks in Good Mythical More. The vault is open.
