fundamental questions to life today fundamental questions of Lionel introspective toilet paper we all know what it is hopefully if you don’t toilet paper is it is a soft tissue paper product primarily used for the cleaning of the anus oh that’s what it is that’s why I wore my toilet paper theme t-shirt shirt today right it’s Seebeck old white you’re gonna be wiping yourself it out later a little peek through okay we’re gonna explore a controversial topic do you prefer your toilet paper mounted over or under over the your walls back here you’ve got that you’ve got dispensing over the top or under dispensing underneath the roll I get it so I’m gonna come out and say right at the top of this thing be honest with a set I am a passionate over earth all right passionate over yeah I want my toilet tickets dispensed in this direction tickets that’s good that’s right and as opposed to under which I’m guessing you are yeah and I will say I believe so strongly about this and I’m gonna get in my realizing that I’m under yeah I believe so strongly about this that I have even switched understoo overs in strangers homes that’s a no-no I just could not help myself what about public restrooms I’ve done that too those are tough you gotta have a key yeah I have the key so carry the key so go go ahead and tell me your preference I don’t care I fundamentally in wholeheartedly do not have a preference and when I hire forms when I am responsible for putting the toilet tickets onto the dispenser it is however it is in my hand and makes it it mounts itself sometimes I don’t even take the other roll off completely and stick it on top perpendicular I do not care I have no opinions about this so I think I’m a perfect candidate well I for your for your display here as a trained industrial engineer I’ve been taught to believe that with everything that with every choice there is a best way to do anything and I believe this is this is no exception there’s a best way to do this and your best may not be my best so what I’m going to do is I’m going to try my best to present both sides of the debate and not just argue for my preference to equip you and you for making the best decision for you because there’s lots of ins and outs of this thing and on some downs and I have a visual aid this right here came from our OCD music video as you can see right now we have it in over mode and that’s where I’m going to start um just to make some observations although this is toilet paper this is over um first things first for the anus see ya a 1989 study established it 68 percent of people prefer their butt buffers to go over okay 68 percent you go give us a lot of those so I’m gonna try to so this is the majority position alright so here’s a few arguments the first one is its superior because when you’re when it’s under and back here you you’re like grabbing the wall and like touching the wall when you’re touch though when you’re trying to get your butt buffer there you know and you don’t want to touch any more than you have to in a restroom even if it’s your own restroom I don’t like to do that okay yeah in the letter there’s lots of splatter you don’t don’t say the word splatter you could splutter you can damage your own your own wallpaper by scratching at it I don’t know can you get a hold of this there which leads to the second reason which is it’s easier to visually locate the end of the roll and then graph it just right there on my face I could just bite it on it well it went to winners bathroom when it’s backwards when it’s under sometimes it’s hidden and you don’t know where it is and you got to be touched like on infinity loop you got to be touching a part of the role that somebody else made you you might say the whole roll off and use it on there well that’s an intelligent very wasteful um this the next reason is that the over allows for the fold over you know what this is hotel this it right in a hotel or you like that align it on a cruise ship sometimes they do it in a swan you see no I can’t do that back do that now the thing that that makes me feel hot class they go inside a motel you know just like run-of-the-mill $30 a night motel they do this I’m like I’m hot class I didn’t realize this do you know what it also signifies it signifies that the bathroom has been cleaned I knew that you didn’t I did not know that right I knew you didn’t know that I did be a signifies hot class so that right there is is not possible with under and then finally a little little point down there this may not be a compelling reason for you but the designers of toilet paper in intend for it to be this way now this one doesn’t have a design on it but when there is a design like remember that time we got the Sarah Palin toilet paper sent to us it was oriented such that you could see Sarah this way not under bright no one who makes toilet paper cotton el sharm and you name it assumes that you’re going to do it the other way and and that’s gotta mean something that means a lot to me personally I like to use things as the manufacturer intense I got another thing here personality profile Gilda Karl a therapist and continent consultant says over errs like taking charge crave organization and are likely to overachieve so if you are that type of person or you want to be that type of person you can aspire to it by putting your role out this way basically it’s an OCPD person which is why I’m probably like this over errs are like more likely than under us to notice a roles direction seventy-four percent to be annoyed when the direction is incorrect 24 percent and to have flipped the direction at a friend’s home 27 percent wow this is really getting psychological switch this around now listen put in your Klingon catchers backwards like that I call it backwards under it blows my mind but I’m going to try my best to provide the arguments to you so you can make your decision Klingon catchers first thing is think about it it makes sense if you it allows for a tidier presentation of the role new role seal it right there see that’s tied here it’s a nice role you can’t you you might not be able to see where the end is but it looks tidier and if you prefer that hey that’s your prayer that is nice it is does look like a spaceship also I hate it when this happens when somebody’s done that oh and now you don’t have to waste paper you can just hide that thingy just hide it back there that’s the first one second do you have a toddler or a house pet and you know what they do they come up and start batting at this thing bat in this thing oh it’s proof not an elephant’s nothing happens if this was over do you know what would be happening right now calamity waterfowl they don’t want to fall if ever a waterfowl your kids two kids don’t know about this you know the cats kids they know about this right nothing happens to me that also applies to an RV like if you’re shaking going on a dirt road with your RV nothing gonna happen if you’re going over you’re gonna you’re gonna be left with a white waterfall all right now hold on you’re gonna be wiping your butt with stuff off the house I don’t need it physically is it really any different each way I don’t think you’d be going down the other way well an RV maybe Murphy doesn’t have a little palsy whines that’s true alright I’ll take my hat on yard I’m just trying to give them as much as possible okay I don’t believe you’re reaching I am reaching you’re right oh you’re really less you’re less likely to use more than you need this way if you just reach here I’m gonna get three if it was that way I’m gonna get an extra piece because the ripping point is up here with over versus down here with under so there’s a conservationist mentality to going under which I never thought about before how much energy guys / what – and lastly if you want to be punk rock if you want to go against social norms if you want to put Sarah Palin upside down well hey you can you can be an under er hmm the Continental study says about under errs they are laid-back dependable seek relationships with strong foundations and generally aren’t as smart just kidding about the last one but that’s what the Cottonelle study said so if you want to be laid-back if you want to go with the flow then you can do that right there or if you need to really treat your OCPD you might want to choose to do this and leave it just this therapy okay so those are my arguments on both sides I’m still an over OCPD – Nicola baby mm-hmm proud OC proud d but what about you you give me a lot to think about link pregnant pause there I got that the little sip the little think I’m going to say two things I’m going to say that number one I probably still don’t care just to be honest with you is that my fault no can I better get a great job because number two if I were to begin to care I would be an ovary and the most compelling two reason I’m listening but I’m so bothered by this I have to turn it around our number one reason a as the manufacturer intends it means a lot to me and be that little motel thing that high-class look I’m going to start doing any time I accidentally put it over at my house I’m gonna do the little motel thing just to make myself feel but if you if you have a cat or a rambunctious toddler I think that swings the right answer for some
