What Food Combo Works Better? with Rhett and Link

[Applause] this is literally ryan’s nightmare thank god you’re here ryan’s nightmare is right here in front of us they are entertainers youtube stars and lifelong friends who have over 75 million subscribers across their digital channels they’ve got to be so rich now they’re unleashing their well-trained taste buds in a new show called inside eats with rhett and link please welcome rhett mclaughlin and link neal [Applause] oh hey guys hey man sometimes we’re allowed to hugs we don’t know we don’t know the rules are you hungry well never but um yeah what are we doing here i love a sensible salad yeah we’re always asking the important questions today is which is better ice cream toppings on salad or salad toppings on ice cream are you hungry an embarrassment of riches so yeah we got all the ice cream toppings there why don’t you just take a couple use your instincts whatever’s wrong on there you know we want to see if we can make something legit yeah yeah go for it are these ice cream topping stores this is a different thing yeah yeah yeah this is all this ice cream okay you know sprinkles i’m gonna eat this this is like a is that like a a lobster a jelly lobster yeah it depends on the angle you look at it yeah all right so i’m gonna throw a few on here okay yeah i’m gonna throw some of these on there i’m going sprinkles i’m a peanut butter man me too oh yeah but let’s double up on some peanut butter on these salads okay i’m gonna put peanut butter cups on the salads because i’m not an animal i mean just a second ago you were talking about eating one another so i figured excuse me one of us was talking about eating one another all right so i’m going for chocolate sauce on my peanut butter i’m gonna follow you with that i’ve got caramel and peanut butter cups and whipped cream because you never know when you’re in the mood for a salad but all you got is ice cream toppings and you’re so true you’re gonna be ready after this okay so what anybody use strawberry syrup because i think that the strawberry has a chance of working because you know you can do like a strawberry dressing for the salad i want you to hear that gilman is over there uh editorializing on no you don’t want to put strawberries cookie dough you want cookie dough yeah oh yeah we are making the exact same salad i i threw some cookie dough there’s no cherries in there yet no i’m i don’t go go for the cherries martin yeah i got cheese you guys are judgmental and i’ve got some whipped cream in there too all right so we try it yeah let’s go for it i’m going for it gosh this is i don’t even know okay i’ve got sprinkles coconut and strawberry syrup this is amazing i’m convinced peanut butter is good on anything it makes everything better it does peanut butter and chocolate is really nice and then you just got you’ve got some uh some greens underneath you didn’t order things over there kelly i have an announcement to make spinach with caramel sauce whipped cream and coconut is the jam that’s like the new salad dressing i don’t know if it’s keto or whatever it is try that there’s nothing nasty about this i mean i was actually trying to get a little bit nasty no i i agree with you anything from salad i think is what we’re learning yeah i could have done without the maraschino cherry oh you didn’t like it yeah i mean that actually ruined everything um we’re gonna test our taste buds when we come back more with rice you guys are living a dream job putting your like you said your engineering degrees to good use oh yes learning learning things about food yes with an engineering approach i don’t know it’s been over a decade that you’ve been like tasting and raiding foods and now you of course as one does you have your own show about it tasting and raiding food yep inside eats on food network sunday nights we go behind the scenes to your favorite food brands and restaurants to the headquarters to the test kitchens and we’re asking questions we’re asking questions that you might have never had like do burrito people have more fun yes we do than bowl people i believe so yeah yeah i have a question that you can ask how come that mcdonald’s from 1955 found inside the wall of that house why is it perfectly preserved yeah why are the fries i know what they’re doing it would be great on some ice cream maybe is all of the mcdonald’s still inside me i want to know all right what are we doing round two we’re uh throwing our salad toppings on our vanilla ice cream base to make a new discovery all right i’m doing jalapenos okay you’re going spicy yes nice we got some steak we’ve got some chicken what’s this is this blue cheese yeah so i’m actually gonna do some uh this is some rare steak [Laughter] a good y’all would bring it back to some rare steak and some blue cheese because i like that steak and blue cheese combo i like the crunch of a of a carrot i’m pretending i’m having a cocktail so i’m putting cucumber and i’m gonna go with a piece of chicken some cheese and um a garbanzo yeah someone else is doing the shrimp so i’m gonna go in on the shrimp i i can’t do this shrimp yeah yeah put some red onions i noticed your carrot that you’ve sort of got protruding is that just for a visual you know the i think the corn a little corn um yeah like one topping yeah that might work oh yeah corn topping is always good on ice cream throw some corn on there yeah you’ve had you’ve had corn on ice cream we’ve had corn ice cream like orange just corn ice cream or an ice cream but not corn corn as a topping okay okay i’m venturing out now with the blue cheese dressing directly on the ice cream yeah me too i’m going blue cheese okay i’m going with ranch nice and creamy blue cheese vinaigrette just a little no i i’m not doing a sensible vinaigrette now calvin the blue cheese is stuck okay you know what splurge yeah splurge a little okay and michael if you want to make one feel free to come on in okay wait you guys do this for a living well you never you never know what’s going to work until you try it that’s right okay i’d like to until we get you to try i like to be prepared for the apocalypse yes it’s a good idea you never know when you’re going to be trapped with a bowl of ice cream some jalapeno peppers and canned carrot and canned up corn hey i’m doing it i’m doing it i’m doing it i’m doing it all right steak blue cheese and feta that’s not great um shrimp how’s it going ice cream onion it’s the cold not it’s the not too great i’m going to tell you not i don’t mind here we go ready jalapeno corn cucumber and blue cheese on vanilla is not bad oh yeah it’s not bad okay it’s oddly good well this is bad this is not bad it’s better better works though yeah that it does work with the meat was a was a wrong turn for me yes i think that you know that’s like a whole separation of church and state the meat and the ice cream to confirm it inside eats with rhett and link air sunday nights at 10
